All players on a team must wear the same color jersey that clearly distinguishes them from the opposing team to facilitate identification during the game. This requirement is crucial for maintaining clarity for players, officials, and spectators. When players wear matching jerseys, it helps avoid confusion regarding team affiliation, particularly during fast-paced game situations where players may be closely interacting.

Uniformity in jersey color ensures that referees can easily recognize different teams, which is essential for enforcing rules and making accurate calls throughout the game. While other options may present considerations regarding colors related to referees or home team preferences, they do not address the primary need for distinct identification between competing teams. Thus, maintaining a uniform color that differentiates one team from the other is the fundamental requirement for team jerseys in this context.
